eastern food inspiration
japp, looks like we have been travelling the Far East during the past weeks, but it wasn't that far :) just Leipzig (here in the Zoo) and Berlin, where Asian inspired food has taken over. as this gives always great raw or vegetarian alternatives it's always something to look out for when travelling as a raw or veggie-foodie. here some tips in case you are in Berlin or Leipzig:
the zoo in Leipzig is a must, in the Asian part you dive into the djungle for real, temperature, smell, everything! and a great treat in the end is the Mövenpick restaurant that offers authentic food :) in Berlin it's mostly to stroll the streets, full of asian street food. some special places:
- Markthalle 9 in Kreuzberg, especially on Thursday evenings, fresh choices everywhere
- Meta Mate in Prenzlauerberg, café with mate tea, chocolates, algee crunch and more
- "Little Vietnam"/ Don Xuan Center in Friedrichshain, big market halls with all from food to other Vitenamese specialities, and several fresh food restaurants - VEGANZ, several vegan super markets - QUÀ PHÈ, vietnamese street food restaurant in Mitte. - and if you browse Prenzlauerberg you cannot help but see all fun places :)
